Who are we?

Lubbock High Robotics is a school organization in which students from grades 9-12 get a hands on experience with the engineering field through the Best Program. Lubbock High Robotics participates in Best annually since the founding of this program. It is made possible by the generous support of parents, volunteers, and sponsors.

Robotics is the only organization available at Lubbock High to allow students to get real engineering experience. Students learn new math, science, and engineering skills, along with the knowledge of the value of teamwork, regardless of whether they intend to pursue engineering as a career. Engineering is about brainstorming, coming up wit h a design, and following that design through while making changes. Lubbock High Robotics is an immensely demanding organization that combines knowledge, experience, and preparedness for a participant’s future.

What is BEST?

BEST (Boosting Engineering, Science, and Technology) Robotics is the sponsoring organization of the competition for which we built our robot. Each year, BEST provides a topic, a field, and the supplies necessary to host a robotics competition for high school students. The goal of the competition is for student participants to learn basic principles of science and engineering, to gain a deeper understanding of the engineering process, and to provide students with real life engineering experience that will benefit them in future careers in science and engineering.

What do we do?

This year's competition is Just Plane Crazy. Our robot is to assemble the airplane as fast as possible in order to accumulate points.

Look for our robot on the field this Saturday at competition!
